Mental Health

The 5th to 11th February 2024 is children and young peoples mental health week and we are focusing on this at the clinic on Monday 5th February. Action for Happiness are the visiting agency and they and we have lots of resources for you, here and on our dedicated Mental Health page.

Action for Happiness promote 10 Keys to Happier Living. They know that everyone's path to happiness is different, but based on the latest research, these are the key things that tend to make life happier and more fulfilling.
Together they spell GREAT DREAM and you can explore them, and lots more such as podcasts, videos, talks, free courses and a monthly happiness actions calendar and action plan (scroll down) on their website, it’s full of positivity!

Mindful activities can be a great way to bring calmness, happiness and wellbeing into you everyday life. Try this activity by Place2Be to help you consider what matters in your day to day life and in turn the wider world. It’s grounding to think small sometimes, just take the next step and do the next right thing (as Anna from Frozen 2 would say!)…

Taking action can feel like the last thing you want to do when you’re feeling low or struggling with your mental health, but even the smallest actions can REALLY help your mindset and should be celebrated! Getting up and making your bed, even if 10 minutes later you hop back in, or feel like you want to, that’s great!

Children’s mental health week has 10 ways to look after your mental health and Action for Happiness have an App you can download and monthly calendars to check out with small, mindful actions to help you and those around you feel happier.

And hey, we know that happiness is not the only natural state of mind for human beings, we have a huge range of emotions and those are felt by everyone in some way, every day, they’re all valid, they’re all normal, but who couldn’t do with a little more happiness in their life?
